In this project we are trying to increase biodiversity by planting local indigenous plants. A plant conservation project has been started to revive the nature on Abhay Yewle's 8 acre plot in Givshi village in the catchment area of Panshet Dam. In this activity, we are planting trees considering the birds, insects and local environment. Along with this, activities like butterfly park, bird trail, watershed for wildlife have been started in this project.
Many organizations and individuals have come forward to cultivate indigenous plants. We provide them native plant saplings every year through Deorai Sanstha, free of charge. With the aim that the society should also be directly involved in the work of planting local indigenous plants, the initiative 'Gharoghari Ropvatika' will be taken up by 'Jividha'. The effort is to create a chain where people plant seeds at their homes and grow at least 5 plants, take care of them throughout the year and then give the plants for planting.
The number of Alert Wanderers in nature is increasing. People should collect as many indigenous plant seeds as they can and deposit them in the office of 'Jividha' Sanstha. It will be used as a 'bank' for seed distribution while setting up numerous small nurseries under 'Gharoghari Ropvatika' initiative. Care should be taken not to pick raw seeds, not to remove all the fruits from the mother plant, and to take care not to damage the mother plant while removing the fruits. It is important to be aware that insects, animals and birds also have a right to the fruits of plants.
We should also do our part to reduce the pollution caused by plastic. Efforts of 'Jividha' organization are going on for this. Plastic and e-waste collection has been started in the organization. All of us are requested to clean the plastic waste from our homes and bring it to the office of 'Jividha' organization. The waste collected by us will be given to social organizations like 'Keshav-Sita' Foundation and Purnam Eco Vision of Rudra Environment Solutions Company in Jejuri on certain days of the week. Collected plastic will be recycled.
